International Martial Arts Games, the biggest sporting event of the IMGC, is held every 2 years. To date, 9 rounds of IMGs were held, thus demonstrating the existence of the IMGC as well as promoting the global martial arts development. The venue of the IMG is decided in the IMGC Congress, and the organizing committee of the host country does all relevant preparations. The Martial Arts Torch Lighting Ceremony is held prior to the opening of the IMG in Pyongyang, the capital of DPR Korea and where the torch of the 1st IMG was lit. Since the opening of the Martial Art Torch Lighting Ceremony, the world is permeated with the atmosphere of the IMG. Torch Lighting, congratulatory speeches, artistic performances and demonstrations of various martial arts styles are held in the Opening Ceremony. The International Martial Arts Games is an event in which all martial arts disciplines in IMGC can be participated, and it is the competition between the same disciplines, not between the different disciplines.
