Jiu-Jitsu, meaning a “soft martial art” and a “submitting technique”, is a name given by synthesizing Japanese martial arts styles comprised of catch and strike techniques. It is the bare-fist fighting methods and their technical system developed by samurais at first. The techniques of this martial art developed on the principle of making a revere use of the strength of the attacker rather than directly confronting him. It typically focuses on throwing, holdback and pressing, joint wrenching and throat squeezing techniques. In the course of the spread of Jujitsu to many countries, several martial arts organizations related to it were formed.
