Mixed martial arts are a complete close fight in which players can both hit and grasp in the standing position and on the floor by using technical methods of other fighting sports events. The term, mixed martial arts, was first used by TV commentator Howard Rosenberg in his comments in 1993. In 1980, the first Mixed Martial Arts Federation was formed in the United States and was called "Tough Guy Contest" and later renamed the "Battle of the Superfighters".
