Fritz Wendland
Position : Ex- Vice President of the IMGCBorn on April 10, 1942 in Munchenburg, Germany. Dr. Fritz Wendland founded the World Karate Confederation in Frankfurt, Germany in 1996 and affiliated to IMGC in 2007. From 2008-2016 he served as the Vice President of IMGC. As the Vice President of IMGC, he visited Pyongyang, DPR Korea in which the IMGC HQs is located on many occasions, and made devoted efforts for the development of IMGC. Specifically, he played a pivotal role in organizing 4th and 5th International Martial Arts Games held in Tallinn, Estonia, 2011 and in Melbourne, Australia, 2013, respectively. During his term, he made many suggestions and proposal conducive to the development of the organization while making selfless endeavors to their implementations. His efforts to ensure World Karate Confederation to play an important role in the activities of IMGC lasted until the end of his life-July 12th, 2020- when he passed away due to the long lasting disease. On receipt of his demise, all leading figures of IMGC including the President and Secretary General of IMGC sent messages of condolence. Dr. Fritz Wendlend, who devoted all for the development of IMGC, still remains etched in the hearts of all martial artists worldwide.
